I attended Bloggy Boot Camp in St. Louis a month or two ago, and more than one person mentioned Google Plus. I had been avoiding G+ because I don’t like Google, but as we all know, Google is god of the web so we have to conform if we want our blogs and businesses to be super successful.
One of the speakers, Dali Burgado, spoke about the importance of Google Plus and how it was definitely going to be King in the blogging and business world over the next year (or maybe less). She shares fun (and helpful) things on her G+ page, like 10 Important Tips for Google+ Beginners. This article was actually written by Michelle Marie.
I really liked Tip #1:
1. To get the most rewarding experience on Google+ begin by circling at least 300. I picked 300 since it’s a manageable number. Circle too little of a number of people and your stream will be dead, circle too many at the beginning and you might overwhelm yourself with an overload of information, most of all you’ll have a hard time making solid and lasting connections.
It’s important to realize that there will be a learning curve when signing up and starting to use Google Plus. It’s like Facebook in many ways, but not so many ways that you’ll know your way around. You may get frustrated, but even if you don’t believe Google Plus is the next big thing, some really important people do believe that, so it’s better that you hop on now rather than later.

In closing…
To be honest, I think Google Plus is a great place to be for networking, if your target market is on Google Plus. As for me, I’m not 100% convinced that I need it just yet, so I have a page but I don’t update it like I do Facebook.
