The question I get asked the most is, “How do you know what to blog about?”. So, I’ve created a short list of random blog post ideas for you. You could create an entire blog around some of these ideas, if you’re passionate enough about it. You can also break them all into series of posts, or even subtopics. Use this list to help you brainstorm and leave a few ideas for others in the comments if you have a moment.
1.Hair – Hair styles, hair cutting (how-to), hair care products
2. Hobbies – Fishing, Mountain Climbing, Scrapbooking
3. Divorce – How to deal with divorce, how to help kids deal, what to do after a divorce
4. Gossip – Hollywood gossip, town gossip (don’t mention names!), fake gossip
5. Financial – Business and financial news, tips, trends
6. Fitness – How to lose weight, how to gain weight, best low-impact exercises – Visit my fitness blog.
7. Gay Rights – Gay marriage, equal rights, gay friendly places
8. Cars – Fastest cars, cheapest cars, how to work on cars
9. Electronics – Reviews, trends
10. Cooking – Recipes, techniques, styles (vegetarian, thai, etc)
11. Global Warming – Environmental Issues
12. Credit Cards – How to build your credit, where to get secured cards (big $$ maker if you turn it into a website/blog)
13. Investing – How to get started, where to invest, why, how, link to investor blogs
14. Fashion – Trends, cutest/ugliest clothes, celebrity fashion
15. Vacations – What to pack, how to plan ($$ maker if turned into a website/blog)
16. Government/Politics
17. Movies – Reviews, best/worst movies of the 90s (or other decade)
18. Music – Same as above.
19. Local – Restaurant reviews, places to go, free things to do (See my local blog – it’s a work in progress.)
20. Product Reviews – Becoming a Review Blogger, How to Find Sponsors for Your Blog
21. Websites – Favorite/least favorite, review websites in your niche
22. Parenting – HUGE potential here. Everything from trying to conceive, to pregnancy, to kids and teens.
23. Advice – Like above, huge potential. Could be a money maker if turned into an advice column website.
24. Pets – How to take care of them, review best pet products, create a site specifically about one animal or breed even
25. Social Networking – Tutorials, new networks
26. Travel – How to travel to a certain city/country on the cheap, or even become a virtual travel agent and help others book their vacations via your website ($$$)
