Facebook fan pages are a dime a dozen. What makes yours different? If you don’t have an awesome landing page, you are probably still trying to figure out what makes your page better than the rest.
Creating a landing page is fairly simple, and best of all it’s free. I’ve included images in this tutorial that you can click on to enlarge.
First, think of what you want to accomplish by having a landing page. The purpose of the landing page on my Facebook page is just to introduce people and to give them easy access to my most helpful articles. You will see my landing page at the bottom of this post.
This is a fan page I really liked, so I used it as inspiration. As you can see, it says “Powered by pagemodo”. That is what we will use to create our Landing Page today.
Click here to go to pagemodo (will open in new window).
Next, you need to choose your template. If it says “pro” in the corner, it will not be free to use.
Each template is different, so you will have to walk through the steps on the template you choose to create your page. Basically you will click on each element of the template, and edit it. This one has a header, a tag line, and lots of spaces for photos. I chose this template so I could link to my posts, but you can also use it to sell items. The buttons actually say “Buy Now!” and have a section for a price.
You need to turn the “like gate” OFF, unless you want to pay $13.95 a month for this feature. A like gate is something that prevents folks from seeing your page until they “like” it.
Choose your plan. I chose the free option. You must “like” Pagemodo on Facebook to use their service for free. Then click “publish”.
Ta-da!! My new landing page. Check it out in action. Don’t forget to “like” me!
If you need help with the settings, simply go to “edit page” on your fan page, and select “welcome” as the landing page.
Please SHARE this post if it helped you, and feel free to leave a link to your new landing page in the comments. I’d love to see what you come up with!
